Colaiste Ailigh, Letterkenny

I’ve just received news that Colaiste Ailigh, the Gaelcolaiste (Irish Language Secondary School) in Letterkenny has just been allocated funding under a new E555 million scheme announced today by the Minister of Education. This will enable the school to establish a permanent base in the town, most probably in the Ballyraine/Gortlee area.

This is great news, and is a credit to all those involved. Many of those involved in Colaiste Ailigh were also involved in establishing the highly regarded Gaelscoil Adhmnain, the Irish Language Primary School in Letterkenny. Donegal VEC is also highly involved with this project.

Until now, Colaiste Ailigh has been based in the former home of the Dunnion family, just off the High Road. The school will now be able to build a modern facility to cater for the needs of the students long into the future.
