Final checks at the Leisure Centre
A quick note to highlight the public open days taking place at the new Sports Centre at Sallaghraine. The Centre will be open for public viewing throughout on tomorrow, Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th of May from 12 to 7pm.

A quick mid-campaign update on a few things.
The 2007 Mayor’s Ball took place on Friday past in the Clanree Hotel. Congratulations to Cllr Ciaran Brogan for an excellent evening; I’m sure a huge sum was raised for this year’s charity, Help Us Dry The Tears.

One of the highlights of my term as Mayor of Letterkenny was my Mayor’s Ball. On May 5th of last year, nearly 500 people attended the event in the Mount Errigal. The event went fantastically, raising just over E50,000 for Donegal Hospice. (update: total raised was €50,326.89)

Highland Radio News is reporting that Gardai have called off the search for Glencolumcille student, Darren McGinely, who has been missing since late Thursday / early Friday of last week, following the discovery of a body in the Swilly near Ballyraine Halls student accommodation.
