Update, November 21st, 2007
November 21st, 2007A few quick updates:
- This year’s Christmas Lights turn-on takes place slightly earlier than usual. The lights are being switched-on this Friday, Nov 23rd, at 6pm at the Market Square.
- IrishElection.com and PoliticsInIreland.com have both been updated recently. They both look great, and continue to function as well as ever. IrishElection is a blog with a wide varieity of opinions. PoliticsInIreland is an automated system that trawls the internet for mentions of politicians, parties and other references to Irish politics on websites, blogs and newspapers.
- The Irish School of Motoring have launched a blog where they talk about Road Safety, and include a lot of advice for learner drivers. Well worth checking out, it’s updated frequently.
- Happy (almost) Thanksgiving to all those on the US side of the Atlantic!
- A truly frightening story: Personal Records for 25 million people lost in the UK. This is probably the worst example of sloppy data protection policies to have come up yet. Sending personal data like that through the post, even a courier, is absolutely ridiculous. I can see no reason why this had to be done like this, rather than a secure, encrypted electronic transfer.
