Riverdance for Letterkenny
February 6th, 2007Pat Nora Gallaher, former director of the Mary From Dungloe Festival and the Letterkenny International Folk Festival, has announced that he will be bringing Riverdance to Letterkenny in May of this year. The show will be taking place in the new Sports Centre at Sallaghraine, and will mark the official opening of the centre. So far, they have confirmed for May 24th and 25th, but hopes are high that the show will be extended following very strong initial demand on tickets.

I was delighted to hear the news. It’s a World-Class event to launch our new centre, and will put Letterkenny firmly on the map for major events in Ireland. The shows will be in front of a crowd of 1,549 each night.
All profits from the show’s run in Letterkenny will be going to the Oncology Unit at Letterkenny General Hospital. I think this is astounding; Pat Nora Gallagher is putting an enormous amount of work in to organising and staging this show (which will have a cast and crew of over 120) and donating all profits for such a worthy cause.
Tickets are available from the Music Centres in Letterkenny, Ballybofey and Donegal Town or by phone on 074 9123062.
