MINUTES AND PROCEEDINGS OF MONTHLY MEETING OF LETTERKENNY TOWN COUNCIL HELD IN THE TOWN COUNCIL OFFICES ON MONDAY 12TH DECEMBER, 2005 AT 7.00 PM

ADOPTION OF MINUTES

On the proposal of Cllr. C. Brogan seconded by Cllr. G. Mc Monagle the Minutes of In-Committee Meeting held on 14th November, 2005 were adopted by the Members.

On the proposals of Cllr. V. Fisher seconded by Cllr. D. Blake the Minutes of Monthly Meeting held on 14th November, 2005 were adopted by the Members.

MANAGER’S ORDERS

Orders made since the date of the last meeting were noted by the Members.

CORRESPONDENCE

There was no correspondence to report.

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Planning applications received since the date of the last meeting were noted by the Members.

MAYOR’S BUSINESS

The Town Mayor, Cllr. D. Blake congratulated outdoor staff and all who contributed to Letterkenny’s success in the IBAL Litter Survey in received “Litter Free� status.

REVIEW OF ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMIT) COUNTY DONEGAL)
BYE-LAWS 2005 – N14 FOUR LANE ROAD, LETTERKENNY

Martin Gallagher updated Members in relation to the proposed speed reduction on the Port Road from 100 to 80 Km per hour and the proposed provision of a solid medium barrier. A lengthy discussion followed with the Members raising a number of concerns notably the possibility of allowing children to cross from the bus stop at Tommy Murphy’s and also their concerns for emergency vehicles. The Members welcomed the public consultation process and on the proposal on Cllr. C. Brogan seconded by Cllr. D. Larkin it was agreed to proceed to the public consultation stage.

TAKE OVER – PART OF GLEBE

On the proposal of Cllr. C. Brogan seconded by Cllr. G. Mc Monagle the Members in accordance with Section 11 of the Roads Act, agreed to the Take-Over of service road and footpaths at part of Glebe as outlined on the relevant map.

REVISION OF REMUNERATION

On the proposal of Cllr. V. Fisher seconded by Cllr. C. Brogan the Members agreed to the Revision of Remuneration as approved under Parallel Benchmarking.

ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING

On the proposal of Cllr. V. Fisher seconded by Cllr. C. Brogan the Meeting was adjourned at this point.
